If you were about to see the playwith about 3,000 new cases per day, Macbeth, you would probably imagine a performance with witches wearing black pointy hats and drafty Scottish castles. However, this production of Macbeth breathes new life into the old text and it makes the play as fresh and terrifying as any modern day thriller on Netflix.?

Central to the play’s success is the relationship between Macbeth (played by James McArdle) and Lady Macbeth (played by Saoirse Ronan) which is so electric and convincing you can forget they are actingare permitted for up to 150 people.. Their relationship that starts with true passion and ambition soon unravels into a mess of chaos and ultimately leads to murder and death22edf960-5286-4138-9ac1-e1a49cdb76ce. The scene where Macbeth hallucinates Banquo is so spellbinding that I was transfixed and forgot to breathe! The sheer pain and desperation that they were going through made it impossible to look away, even for a split second.?
